Satellite's Eye View

July 28, 2018

For a little orientation, here's a wider shot from Google Earth that illustrates just how far above the Arctic Circle the expedition will go.  On most of our route the sun will never set.  (Just as well for a packed itinerary!)

Less than a week out now.  I'll meet up with the team in Ottawa this Friday 3 August then on the 6th we fly to Qausuittuq (Resolute) to meet our ship and conduct our first day of bringing the ocean to eye level for kids in communities already feeling the effects of climate change.  Stay tuned this week for updates on gear, weather/sea conditions, and (of course) what I'm reading.
