Dr. B. presents on environmental humanities at conferences and events. 

Most recently she was was invited by the Gulf Coast chapter of Bill McKibben’s 350.org  to discuss the role of the humanities in climate change action; she gave the keynote address at the 2018 UWF Women’s Studies Conference (“Frankenstein to Furiosa: Ecofeminist Poetics to Save the World”); she was invited to by the Northwest Florida League of Women Voters to be the respondent at their screening of “Equal Means Equal”; and her speech to the 2017 Pensacola Women’s March has since been published in the textbook Rhetoric and Composition (2e).  

You can find her presenting regularly at the international conferences of the North American Society for Oceanic History, Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment, and Nineteenth Century Studies Association.

She also consults on environmental humanities pedagogy and curriculum.  As the resident humanities scholar for the Sedna Epic Expedition Team she designs interdisciplinary academic and public engagement, and is currently working on curriculum for a Women’s Environmental Leadership Forum that will take place November 2019 in Tromsø, Norway and bring together Sami and Inuit women as well as non-Indigenous women from Europe, North America, and Australia.
